The Most Important Dylan Harmonica Ever Sold

The provenance of the harmonica signed and inscribed on the front of the box by Bob Dylan with a drawing by him of a harmonica blowing notes on the back of the box:

On April 12, 1963 Bob Dylan gave his historic solo concert at Town Hall in NYC. You can read many of the details of that concert in Chapter 18 of the book, “BOB DYLAN On A Couch & Fifty Cents A Day.”

On April 14, 1963 Bob Dylan visited the McKenzie family apartment in NYC. Much of that visit is described in Chapter 12 of the book, “BOB DYLAN On A Couch & Fifty Cents A Day.” He brought with him two harmonicas which he had played on stage at his April 12,1963 concert and gave it as a gift to the McKenzies’ son, Peter. He wrote the title of the song he had played using this harmonica on the front of the box.

The venue it was used and the song played rank this as the most Important Dylan harmonica ever sold.
